Between full school days, tuition classes, homework from both, and the rest of a normal childhood, most students aren't short on effort — they're short on a system for deciding where that effort should go on any given evening. A few habits make a bigger difference here than most students expect.

Write it down somewhere other than memory. A student juggling five subjects across two institutions is holding too many moving pieces to reliably track in their head — a simple weekly planner, even just a page with each day's subjects and pending work, removes the mental overhead of constantly trying to remember what's due when.

Match task difficulty to energy level, not just deadline. Most students default to doing the easiest homework first because it feels productive, then hit the hardest subject last, exhausted, at the end of the night. Flipping this — tackling the subject that needs the most concentration while there's still energy for it — consistently produces better results with the same number of hours.

Protect small blocks rather than waiting for large ones. Students (and adults) often wait for a big free block of time to 'really focus,' which rarely arrives on a school day. A consistent 30-minute block right after school, used the same way every day, adds up to far more real study time over a month than waiting for a free Saturday that keeps getting interrupted.

Don't treat every subject as equally urgent every day. Trying to touch all five subjects every single evening usually means each one gets a shallow ten minutes. Rotating focus — two subjects get real attention today, two different ones tomorrow — with light daily revision of everything else, tends to build deeper understanding than spreading thin attention evenly across everything at once.

None of this requires giving something up. It's mostly about being deliberate with the same hours that were already there, instead of letting the evening's order get decided by whichever subject's homework felt most urgent in the moment.
